Practice without limits – the Yamaha Silent Guitar SLG200S NT

The Yamaha SLG200S NT is a steel-string silent guitar that combines authentic acoustic guitar feel with an exceptionally quiet design. Perfect for late-night practice, thin-walled apartments or life on the road, without giving up a real playing feel. As part of the proven SLG200 series, it carries decades of Yamaha guitar-building expertise.

Compact frame, genuine playing feel

The open frame in rosewood and maple, combined with a partially solid top, cuts the volume by up to 80% compared with a conventional acoustic guitar – no resonating body, yet full tone through headphones or line output. A mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and a 43 mm nut width keep the playing feel true to a real western guitar.

SRT Powered System: acoustic tone through headphones

At the heart of the instrument is the SRT Powered System (Studio Response Technology): the active piezo pickup captures the signal, which the SRT preamp then models to recreate the sound of different microphone positions on a real acoustic guitar. Bass, treble and effect controls (reverb, chorus) plus the SRT Blend control let you shape your sound right on the instrument. A built-in chromatic tuner keeps the guitar ready to play at any time.

Your benefits at a glance:

• Practice quietly, anytime: Up to 80% quieter than a conventional western guitar – ideal for home, hotel rooms or backstage.
• Authentic acoustic sound: The SRT Powered System delivers realistic guitar tone through headphones or line output.
• Compact and easy to travel with: The reduced frame packs down and travels easily.
• Full playing feel: 43 mm nut width and 634 mm scale length, just like a real western guitar.
• Ready to play instantly: Built-in chromatic tuner and on-board sound shaping.
