The Yamaha YSL-350C Compact solves a familiar problem: many children and younger students love the sound of the trombone, but the long slide of a standard model is simply too far for short arms. The YSL-350C is a full Bb tenor trombone with a noticeably shortened slide, with no compromise on range.

A clever valve system instead of overstretching

An ascending C valve (rotor) replaces the two farthest slide positions. This lets young players reach the full scale without overstretching. All other slide positions remain identical to a standard trombone, which makes a later switch to a full-size model easy, since no new positions need to be learned.

Proven materials for a full, warm tone

The 204 mm gold brass bell delivers even vibration and a carrying tone. The dual bore of 12.7 to 13.34 mm offers comfortable response with enough substance for a full sound. The chrome-plated nickel silver inner slide responds quickly and precisely, while the one-piece drawn yellow brass outer slide provides airtightness, durability and added resonance.
