It combines the traditional compact-piano construction, patented by Schimmel back in the 1930s, with a warm, full sound in a compact footprint. The three-dimensionally crowned, tapered-cut spruce soundboard and dynamic soundbar regulate the flow of energy at different playing volumes, producing a wide tonal range from the most intimate pianissimo to a sustained forte. The Schimmel action made by Renner, together with hammer heads of highly elastic merino felt, delivers sensitive touch response, while Duratec strings from Pitthan ensure a precise partial-tone structure.

Twin Tone: an acoustic piano and a digital piano in one

With the Twin Tone system, you can silence your C 116 Tradition and keep playing comfortably through headphones. Optical sensors convert every key movement into MIDI data, giving you access to 11 voices, including the Schimmel K 230 concert grand and the K 122 compact piano. The system is controlled via a slide-out touchscreen located beneath the keyboard; a MIDI port (DIN-5) plus a USB port for MIDI IN/OUT connect your piano to mobile devices, a laptop or a PC.
