The 88 keys, with acrylic resin white keytops and phenolic resin black keytops, provide a secure grip even during intensive playing. Combined with Yamaha's proven piano action, they deliver the precision and dynamics pianists have valued for generations. The soft-close fallboard additionally protects your fingers and the delicate action.

Silent play with concert grand sound

The SH3 Silent System uses non-contact sensors, electromagnetic inductive at the keys, optical at the hammers and pedals, capturing every nuance of your touch without altering the acoustic action. Through headphones you hear 25 voices, including binaural samples of the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grands, with rich 256-note polyphony. Via Bluetooth or USB, connect your smartphone or tablet, record your playing as a WAV or MIDI file, and play it back later.
