Its dark-stained maple and historical shape give it an identity of its own. Mollenhauer bases this series on instruments by Hieronymus F. Kynseker, with the different sizes matched in sound. It is a soprano with a clear connection to Renaissance and early Baroque ensemble playing.

Historical inspiration with a characterful sound

The link to the historical instruments goes beyond the outside shape: a bold, characterful sound is also a deliberate feature of the Kynseker series. The 4107 is an appealing choice when you want a soprano voice with personality in your consort. It lets you add the upper register while helping shape the ensemble’s overall colour.

Single holes and the right fingering chart

This version has single holes and is listed with baroque fingering in the manufacturer’s offer. Mollenhauer’s product page describes the system as similar to baroque fingering. Use the supplied Kynseker fingering chart to become familiar with your instrument. The range runs from C5 to D7, with A4 = 442 Hz as the reference pitch for matching it to your ensemble.

Your benefits at a glance:

A distinctive ensemble voice: The bold Kynseker sound gives your soprano part a character of its own.

Historical design: The shape and sound draw on the Kynseker originals held in Nuremberg.

Fingering support included: The supplied chart guides you through this single-hole version.

Protected storage: The lined leather bag keeps the instrument protected during storage and transport.

Technical specifications

Manufacturer / series

Mollenhauer / Kynseker

Model

4107

Instrument

Soprano recorder in C

Material

Dark-stained maple

Fingering

Baroque in the offer; similar to baroque on the product page

Holes

Single

Range

C5–D7

Reference pitch

A4 = 442 Hz

Included in the package

Mollenhauer 4107 Kynseker soprano recorder

Lined leather bag

Microfibre wiper

Grease tin

Fingering chart and care instructions

Practical tip

Break in a new wooden recorder with short daily playing sessions and let it dry thoroughly after playing.
